Very very unreliable. Disconnects very frequently and does not recognize your wifi.
I bought this (wifi switch) for its remote access capability. I have spent hours, on my own and with phone support, trying to get this to work. At one point it appeared to connect remotely, but before I could test it, it lost the connection. Once that happens, there is no way to reconnect unless you have direct access to the device which pretty well defeats the purpose. This has been a very frustrating experience. I bought four of the switches and will be returning them all. Such a waste of time. I used to think Belkin was a good company. Not any more. My advice... read the negative reviews and dont waste any more time than that.
I have owned both the light switch and outlets. Useless and not user friendly. Gave up and now using WION. Have found the WION app more user friendly and the hardware more reliable.
The WeMo product is a good in theory parodist. However when it comes down to reliability its not there. Switches that are programmed on schedules will sometimes no longer appear in your list of items. Then you have to reconfigure them to get them to appear back again. I wouldnt recommend this product line.
Bought 4 of the WeMo switches and installed it without an issue. My router changed and its impossible to get it working again. Im very tech savvy and this is impossible to get working. Very frustrated!!! Do not buy
I have had a insight switch and wall switch for years now. These things are garbage. Fought with them on and off to stay connected to internet. My room now flashes orange as the products will not connect. I have had Philips hue for years and these always connect. Dont waste your time.
Everything set up. 1 network. Strong signal. Why do they keep going to Not detected status? Do they cycle or go into a sleep power saving mode or something? Belkin you are very quiet... are you doing a Pebble on us?
Extremely disappointed that its not working. Its a waste to spend so much on something that if not for the wifi would have been half the cost or less. Given theres no wifi connection its unacceptable to charge so much.
I bought the starter set to serve mainly as a sunrise lamp and it does that well- when it connects. I have no idea how this app would function with the maximum number of connected bulbs, because it barely connects to two. Lots of restating, re-linking, and hard resets to get even two lights connected. The actual app is more unstable since the update. When I reduce the dimmer, the display bar jumps to full brightness instead of staying where it reads and is set at 70 or 50 percent. So yeah. It worked and now it works less well.
I have had 2 wall plugs for 3 days and they have yet to stay connected more than a few hours. Constantly restoring due to "not detected". Returning them for a refund.
Constantly loses the settings for the light bulbs which requires setting them up from scratch again.
I read all the other negative reviews when I received one of the switches for Christmas and was already for disappointment but after updating the firmware, the switch works perfectly even from across town. So far so good!

This app is a total failure. I will never purchase anything connected with the WeMo app again.
Setup my first device no problem Christmas morning. 1 week later decided to setup 3 more devices. Have spent 6 hours trying to connect them to the wifi. Wemo update is a pile of you know what. How can you screw up a perfectly good item in 1 week. Now Im stuck with 4 useless devices that the store wont take back.
They work well 97% of the time and thats pretty good!
I wish I would have checked out the app reviews before I bought a bunch of the Belkin WeMo products. Finally got it to recognize the smart bulbs, but it cannot add the smart switched plugs in the same room! I suggest people explore products that use a better app!
Ive had several connectivity issues in the past year and a half using this switch. Now after the latest update I have not been able to connect and Ive deleted and reinstalled the app several times and cannot get it to connect to the Wi-Fi and we went to the Thames to the app often crashes.
The product is cool but buggy at best. Needs a lot of work. Lots of potential. Needs far more supported products.
