Painful setup

I got a new wifi router, and it took me over 3 hours to reset up my wemo devices. I had to reset all my devices at least four times because the app would stall, crash, or not even recognize the devices.

so far i have 3 recepticals and 2 switches hooked up using alexa. work great and its cool just saying "turn on light 1" or whichever i want on. hope to find a dimmable switch for the mix soon.

Wemo light switch

Had problems connecting the second light switch to my wifi and to the app. The instruction that come with the light switch do not tell you about the 2 small buttons (reboot & restart). If you dont pay attention, like I didnt, you will not notice them on the front of the switch. After spending 2 hours of trying myself, I called support (READ THEIR SUPPORT POLICY, ITS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!). Agent told me about the 2 small buttons and the process...BAM! I was up and running. The app loves to updat firmware when you first install it on multiple devices...meaning it updates several times on each device.

Love WeMo!

Did I have issues when i first set it up, yes but now I am a pro by just reading simple troubleshooting directions online. I have my whole apartment set up and its so convenient especially when I go away on trips setting up the rules. I have had mine a year and half and wont be without it.

WeMo whats up with the updates? Theyre switches for gods sake! I always dread it when updates come out because everything quits working for a few days

Its one of the excellent home automation out there..

Easy to setup , however you need a bit of networking experience, not DIY friendly .. Have good understanding of instructions.. of how to setup..

Used to be great....

Started out great. Soon-after a few Firmware updates would come through and break it, so you have to reset back up again. This time I switched routers and again such a pain to set all back up again. You would think resetting from an app could be an option but no. Gonna start looking into other options and phase this out.

Horrible firmware updates

The latest update promised it would fix "some" issues with iOS 10.2. I was delighted that it did only to be disappointed when the firmware up came along and broke most everything. Giving up on WeMo. They are getting worse instead of better with each update.

Just added another light switch

I started with an outlet and added a couple of light switches love being able to turn on programs to cycle lights.

App and Hardware pain in backside

Remote access not reliable. Update causes hardware to be reset at times, which is a pain. Support usually suggest deleting app and restarting

Works as advertised. Buying more! However, when they stop working theyre really hard to reconnect. We need to be able to use this app from a laptop as well!! Please make the firmware updates easier to get and download.

Terrible avoid app and related electronics

App crashes constantly, cant even get it set up. Our home is hooked up to Nest & Alexa... all no problems this stuff WeMo and Belkin nothing but problems. AVOID

Lights

I love these lights, they work just as I hoped they would! The only tiny issue is they confuse my dog!

I love this app

Works great love this app. I am running 10 right now and getting more. If you find it not working shut off your wifi and run it off data for 30 seconds.

It works and it doesnt work :-(

I like Wemo but I think it still needs some tweaks from Wemo engineering department. Every time I look at the Wemo app something isnt connected anymore. Will play with it another week, if no worky worky I will try others brand. Today 13 Aug 2016 Hand to change to 1 star. Had to change my Wifi password, now every Wemo products in house dont work. Sent problem report to Wemo weeks ago to contact me with solution still waiting.

Little finicky but works well

Some issues with finding devices at times but overall does what it should.

A little quirky during setup but it works

Have to connect to plugin, then force quit app before it will detect plugin. Otherwise it works well for what I need.

Works

I have 4 of these hooked up currently. Follow the instructions and the switches set up correctly. Im only rating it 4 stars because I dont know how it will integrate with Alexa. If it integrates with Alexa as smoothly as with the switches I will rate this a 5 star. Only time will tell.

WTH!

None on my devices work now. I went through and reconnected everything. They all worked until the last firmware update processed. Now nothing works. Get you act together!!

Reliable and open

Works well and havent had any issues. Easy to set up. No problem integrating with Amazon Alexa.
